Delete your account and data
You can delete your Kikidori data yourself at any time, without asking us and without giving a reason. There are two routes:
Delete only part of it
Remove a single child, all child data, or individual photos while your account stays.
Read the stepsDelete your account
In the app
- Open Settings.
- Find the “Account & Family” section.
- Tap “Delete family”.
- Type your family name to confirm.
Deletion runs immediately and cannot be undone.
If you did not create the family, you will find “Leave Family” in the same place. That removes your own access while the family continues to exist for the remaining caregivers.
By email
If you no longer have access to the app, write to datenschutz@kikidori.com. Please include the email address you registered with. We handle your request within the period set by Art. 12 (3) GDPR. This also applies if you only want part of your data deleted.
Deleting only part of your data
You do not have to give up the whole account to remove specific data. There are three levels:
- Delete a single child. In Settings under “Children” there is a bin icon next to each child. You type the name of the child to confirm. All of that child’s data is removed; the other children and your own account are untouched.
- Withdraw consent for all child data. In Settings, “Consent” opens a page with both withdrawal options. “Withdraw consent for children’s data” deletes every child profile and its data while your own account remains.
- Remove individual optional details. Profile photos and quest-proof photos can be deleted at any time without the account losing functionality.
What gets deleted
Deleting the family removes everything attached to it:
- All children and their profiles
- All quests and completions
- All point transactions
- All rewards, requests, and wishes
- All routines
- All badges
- All uploaded photos
- All caregiver accounts
- All notifications and subscriptions
- Entire activity history
What is kept temporarily
Two things are kept for a limited period after deletion, because we are required to keep them:
- Proof of your consent, due to the accountability obligation in Art. 7 (1) GDPR
- Server log files, for abuse detection
The exact periods are in the privacy policy under “Retention period and deletion”.
